Turkey, the Trimmings and Things to be Thankful for!

It was a perfect day with traditional flavors dancing on my taste buds paired with the perfect Pinot Grigio and topped off with a special family recipe selection of homemade pies! The table was set with lots of festive turkeys and crisp white linen with a touch of gold. The candles were lit and their flickering light cast a dreamy haze over the almost fantasy like atmosphere with a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree in the corner covered in golden angels! We began the meal with a blessing thanking the Lord for the good friends and family surrounding us and for their safe arrival and return. Our minds were all on the things that mean the most to each of us from the soldiers in far away lands who are sacrificing being here to give us the chance to, and the bounty that now fills our plates. I pray for peace in the world, for peace in our hearts and for the experience of joy that comes from a life filled with love! Today was another event that will stand out as a day of renewal where I will take away a special goal to remember to always make each day an event!

Make Every Day an Event

Don't wait for an ocassion or a holiday to plan your next event! Every day can be an event day! Celebrate your blessings by planning something special for yourself and your family each day. How about a special meal? Make it a point to try something new for dinner once a week. Join an email recipe trade or check one of the many websites where you will find fabulous food ideas that you can introduce your family to. Living alone? No worries! There are many great meals that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less in small portions, or consider freezing the extras for future meals or to take to the office for lunch!

Here is a recipe to get you started!

1 pork tenderloin
lemon seasoning
fresh ground pepper
sea salt

Rub your tenderloin with the above seasonings. Place on a broiler rack cooking on each side for about 4 to 5 mins. Let stand for 10 minutes, slice and serve hot (center will be slightly pink)

Optional:
Add a nice cranberry mango chutney sauce to give the meal a holiday touch! Serve with fingerling potatoes in rosemary butter sauce and fresh green beans sprinkled with sesame seeds!
